Aroma Radio July 4th Weekend Mix

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Hello Candle Breeze Fans!
Today I’m writing with Root Beer Float filling my entire home with the aroma of home made root beer while “Blue Moon” by The Cowboy Junkies is palying on my Aroma Radio mix.

Want to start out and thank “Jimmy the Saint” (”JTS”) for sending me The Cowboy Junkies cd. “JTS” is one of our biggest fans and has been a huge supporter of Candle Breeze since day one.
I have known “JTS” since 1988 and I can whole heartedly say that he is one of those friends that you can not say enough good things about. I’m proud to say that I gave “JTS” his nick name about 12 years ago and almost everyone we know now calls him “Jimmy the Saint”. The name came from the movie “Things to do in Denver when your dead” as Andy Garcia plays a character named Jimmy the Saint. When things are unraveling Garcia makes sure everyone is taken care of before he takes care of himself. “JTS”, Jonny M and I saw the movie at the famous Tower movie theatre and it was a no brainer to call him “JTS” from that day forward. I highly suggest renting “Things to do in Denver” if you’re a dude. This is one of the best dude flicks of all time. Everyone should be so lucky to have a friend like “Jimmy the Saint”.

Another thanks for all of you who purchased the Tony Toscano deal of the day on Friday. This special included the new
Root Beer Float Cand-O a week prior to its July 4th roll out. Seems by the record number of purchases last Friday you’re all very excited to try the new Root Beer Float. Can’t wait to get your comments on this new Cand-O fragrance. I love it!!!

OK! Here it is! The Aroma Radio July 4th weekend mix!
This is what I’ll be listening to all weekend and sharing with all.
19 tracks of tunes that has a mix for everyone. You’ll have to support Steve Jobs and his little apple co. but for $20 it’s well worth the download.
Here you go:

US3: Cantaloop, Come on everybody, Thinking about your body
Katrina & The Waves: Walking on sunshine
Dire Straits: Twistin by the pool
Tom Petty: Breakdown
Morphine: Top Floor Bottom Buzzer

Duffy: Mercy
Mike Doughty: The Gambler, Let it go
Bob Schneider: Stacia Brown, Mudhouse

Cheers,

Deno

Cand-O Fruit Basket Bliss

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Hello Candle Breeze fans!

Today I’m writing with the Cand-O aroma of Vanilla Sugar Cookie filling my entire home while “Over the Top” by Ray Charles is playing on my Aroma Radio mix.

I’m going to keep it short and sweet this post due to circumstances this weekend that could incriminate me. ;-}

Want to thank so many of you for purchasing the “Cand-O Fruit Basket” Deal of the Day on Friday. It was Fruit Basket Bliss! As you all know Tony Toscano and his Talking Pictures TV Show sponsors this weekly special and seems that you all wait for this special each week. I get asked all the time what Tony is really like and I can’t say enough kind things about him. He is genuine and of course loves Candle Breeze. You can now watch his movie reviews at www.TalkingPictures.tv if you miss him on the WB Network. His new co-host Michelle Wright is a doll and she sure helps keeping you from switching channels. Tonys viewership should increase big time due to Michelle!

Thanks for the numerous comments to the blog and emails last week. Jill sent a really cute comment that Matt posted last week. I know I mentioned that I was not going to post comments but Matt seems to think that some need acknowledgement. The comments that I would love to post have gotten me into trouble in prior posts so I’ve learned my lesson. Jill and her Sex in the City Entourage got a real kick out of the last post and I have received emails from her entourage wanting individual props. Seems that if you make the Candle Breeze blog you have gained some kind of weird status. Need to thank “KMC” for the delicious Peach Cobbler that she made and personally delivered. As a big Candle Breeze fan she couldn’t resist this sweet gesture. There is nothing better than enjoying a delicious peice of Peach Cobbler while a Juicy Peach Cand-O fills your kitchen. I wonder if this will bring on a barrage of Root Beer floats to the office after we roll out it out this Cand-O July 4th. I have made plans to visit the Farmer’s Market this Saturday morning to help perfect our Apricot Honey Cand-O that will make its apprearance Aug. 1st.

Thanks again for all of the support and kind words towards Candle Breeze and this blog. If you’re in SLC this week please try to attend and support the Utah Arts Festival. I will be there both Friday and Saturday night enjoying the food and music. Mark Knophler of Dire Straits fame is performing this Wednesday at Abravanal Hall and should not be missed. Special Birthday shout outs go out this week to Anna R., Martin G., CC, Nancy S., and to my sweet Katie who has been the best little dog an owner could ever ask for. Happy 14th Katie!

Cheers,

Deno

Oh wait! I almost forgot…
OK, enough already! I have received so many Aroma Radio mix requests this past month about giving you a list of songs for the 4th of July weekend. Seems you all want a CD mix for that weekend that will groove your party or to personally enjoy for the 3 day weekend. I will provide a list next week for all of you so that you can help support poor Steve Jobs and his little apple company by downloading these songs. I will make it really groovy with some mood tunes incase you’re not with a group of friends but with that special someone. Most of you have downloaded the past blog mentions of music and should have about 8 or so to get started, I will add about a dozen more next week. So refrain from sending any more music requests, a mix list is on its way. Todays song “Over the Top” by Ray Charles is that perfect song if you have a lover that you truly miss. It’s hard to find but well worth adding it to your collection.

Talk to you all next week…

Father’s Day wrap-up

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Hello Candle Breeze fans!

I’m writting today as the new Juicy Peach Cand-O is filling my office with the aroma of Peach Cobbler pie while “Bitter Blue” by Shannon McNally is playing on the Aroma Radio Mix.

Before I start rambling I want to thank those of you who sent me very nice Father’s Day wishes this past week. As for Nikki’s question, I’m very happy with the 2 kids that I have now and will have to pass on your cute offer to be the father of your first born.

Once agian our Candle Breeze fans made the Tony Toscano/Talking Pictures Deal of the Day on Friday a huge success! Looks like plenty of Fathers will be enjoying Candle Breeze in their homes and offices this week. Glad to hear that you all love the new Juicy Peach! Have received many compliments on how it smells like Peach Cobbler and “peaches that mom used to bottle”. Root Beer Float will roll out July 4th and Apricot Honey will follow August 1st.

It was nice to hear that a few of you attended the Old 97’s concert that I recommended. Yes, they were as fun as I predicted and Rhrett Miller gave us 2 hours of great vocals. “Roller Skate Skinny” had everyone singing word for word with Rhrett, that was really cool.

I had a great Father’s Day weekend with lots of golf and sun. I was glued to the TV late night Friday with the news of the passing of NBC’s Tim Russert. It was L2 who really introduced me to Tim and his “Meet the Press” program and glad she did. L2 is very politically in the know and as she would say bright and early every Sunday morning, “if it’s Sunday morning it’s Meet the Press”. It was L2’s Sunday ritual and I can imagine she was as sad as anyone when she heard the news, she has lost the one voice that she could truly trust in politics. I made it a point to start my Father’s Day Sunday with what could be my final Meet the Press viewing. The program was hosted by Tom Brokaw who in my opinion is the best in the business. There were many tributes that showed how loved Tim was but it was the pure love and emotion displayed by James Carville a Democratic strategist and his wife Mary Matalin a Republican strategist that opened the flood gate of tears for me. I came to learn that Tim would bring them both on the show to stir up controversy just to entertain himself. I just wanted to pass my heart felt sympathy to all of you who loved Tim and special thanks to L2 for broadening my world.

OK, on a lighter note. “The Taste of Greece” was Sunday evening and what a party some of you missed. As mentioned last week all of you were invited and a few of you took me up on my offer. Lexie and her Sex in the City entourage showed up and had the feast of their lives. They came without tickets and mentiond they were guests of Candle Breeze and were escorted to our table. I’m proud to say that I am now the Godfather to Lexie, Jill, Alison, and Trisha. They were baptized with copious amount of Ouzo and Baklava. Alison suggested an Ouzo fragrance for a Cand-O which may not be a bad idea. Jill has a future as a Belly Dancer if she chooses and the Bouzouki player had eyes only for Trisha. Thanks for taking Candle Breeze up on their offer. I had a blast!

Received a ton of Aroma Radio questions, seems most of you want more than 1 blog a week from me just for the song selections and life updates. I will continue to only write once a week but will send additional song selections with every web order when you request “songs” in the message box when ordering.

Once again, thanks for all of the blog comments and supporting the “Deal of the Day” specials.
Big thanks to Ali & Meech for a great Father’s Day! I love hanging out with you two!

Talk to you all next week.

Cheers,

Deno

Don’t forget Dad this weekend!

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Hello Candle Breeze fans!
Writing this morning with Garden Spearmint wafting through my home while “Baby I love you” by Aretha Franklin is playing on my Aroma Radio Mix.

Annie one of our new Candle Breeze fans who is now addicted to Candle Breeze wrote, “I’m savoring a slow morning listening to Swell Season, while the smell of Amaretto is mixing perfectly with my coffee”. Not bad Annie. She wants me to hire her to write the openings for each blog entry. What do all of you think? If I were to give her the job she would have to put all of her last minute vacations on hold which would cramp her style. Maybe I should send with her with a Candle Breeze to all her vacation spots as marketing. That’s not a bad idea…

Once again the Tony Toscano “Talking Pictures” Deal of the Day last Friday was a huge hit with all of you. Thanks so much for ordering Candle Breeze for your Dad’s this Father’s Day. I have had many requests about being notified prior to the Tony discount. The best I can do is let you all know that Tony chooses the day on a whim. His Talking Pictures tv Show picks up the tab on this special and they do it once a month for a 2 hour period only. Make sure you tune into The Chunga Show @ 101.9 The End at 8:00 am every
M-W-F for Tony’s specials.

Getting some really funny comments about the TV commercial out takes that Matt has so kindly added to the web site. To answer a few questions that have been asked quite a bit; yes, that is my nose and not a cigar, and no I didn’t take Tony’s hair and use as extensions for my own scalp. As for Jeff in Palo Alto, Tony may be interested but Deno is a definite “no”.

I am also receiving some great Cand-O fragrance ideas from you all for this fall along with Aroma Radio suggestions. L2 was in San Diego last weekend and wrote that she went to see the
Rebirth Brass Band from New Orleans and wanted to pass along to all that “they were fantastic and the concert was a religious experience!” L2 has a lot of input on what goes on the Aroma Radio mixes and for L2 to rave about this concert they must have been fantastic. I can’t wait to check them out! A reminder that the Old 97’s are playing at the Paladium this Wednesday night. This alt-country band has been fantastic to see live and I will be there singing “Bird on a wire” word for word. Try not to miss them if you’re in SLC this week.

Golf, bartending, poker and driving consumed my weekend. “Jonny M” and I were bartenders at a private party Saturday night for a group of 100 Greek Arcadians. As “Jonny M” can attest, the Greeks put on a party like no other nationality we know of. The Greeks start with a open bar for the first 2 hours while copious amouts of appetizers that most people would refer to as a complete meal are constantly being passed around the room. The main meal was an abundance of Greek marinated chicken, stuffed grape leaves, rice pilaf, smelts, and feta salad. The easy thing about bartending at a Greek function and keeping everyone happy is keeping the Ouzo shot glasses full lined up on the bar. “Jonny M” was so impressed with this party that all he could say all night was “this is heaven”. There is nothing more wonderful than seeing a ballroom full of people laughing, hugging, Greek dancing, eating, drinking from dusk till dawn. The food kept comming until the last of the poker players were gone at 5:30 am. I hope that “Jonny M” is right and it is what heaven will be like. Congrats to Paul Roumpos for being named “Arcadian Man of the Year”.

If you would like to attend such a party you’re in luck! This Sunday the 15th they are having a “Taste of Greece” food frenzy. This $50 ticket includes over 20 entrees and dozens of Greek pastries to choose from. This is an invite event only but have made arrangements so you can mention Candle Breeze at the door and they will sell our fans a ticket. This event is far better than the Greek Fest that is held in September with no long food lines. Hope to see some of you there and if you stop by and say hi I will provide Ouzo for good cheer. It will be held in the Greek Hall on 300 west 250 south in SLC from 5:00 pm until dawn.
Opa!

Want to wish some Candle Breeze fans Happy Birthday this week;
Chelsea @ The Chunga Show, Tony Toscano, Cheri G., Mark W.,
Mike @ The Greek Market, Crystal, Micky D., and Zorro.
A BIG Happy Father’s Day to all of us Fathers!

Keep all those blog, email comments and Candle Breeze orders comming..

Cheers,

Deno

June is here!

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Hello Candle Breeze fans!

Writing today with Orange Creamsicle filling my office with wonderful aroma while “It’s all right” by Ray Charles is playing on my Aroma Radio mix. This Orange Creamsicle reminds me of summer so much.

Hope you all had a wonderful warm weekend. We have had great weather here and spent most of the weekend weeding while listening to Aroma Radio mixes. Pulling weeds not rolling…
Lost $$ to the boy’s golfing Friday and didn’t mind due to I drank their beverages, smoked their Cigars and rode up with Rocky. At $4.25 a gallon for gas, $10 cigars and $4 beverages my $42 golf losses didn’t seem to hurt that bad.
Congrats to Tommie Sharp for winning the Salt Lake Amateur this weekend. Tommie was the ring bearer at my wedding 23 years ago at age 5. Tommies dad Greg was a fantastic amateur golfer in his day and could hit a 1 iron like radar. Tommie has is amateur status back after trying the pro circut for about 3 years. He told me it is hard paying $1,000 professional entry fees and only making $800.
Tommie can shoot a 65 in his sleep and still can’t make it on tour. Just goes to show how good these touring pros really are.
Props go out to Niko Roumpos who’s super league Raiders baseball team has won 16 in a row! They are going to NY next month to participate in the Little League World Series and visit Yankee Stadium before it is demolished for the new Stadium.

Thanks for all the props about the Aroma Radio play list. Many of you took the liberty to contact me about providing a really cool set list for the long Memorial weekend. Replyed to about 30 emails with set lists that I felt would be perfect for that weekend. Received tons of props about how Aroma Radio grooved many BBQ’s.
I will put a set list for all to check out in the next few weeks. As always you can check out previous bolgs to get a few song selections.

The new Candle Breeze tv commercials are running on the “Talking Pictures” program. Had a chance to review but my suggestions of more Tony and less Deno fell on deaf ears. Matt my web host guru is going to put some of the bloopers from the commerical out takes on the web site soon. You’ll all see what an idiot I am at times.

Glad to hear that you all love the new Juicy Peach. The Root Beer Float will be available July 1st. I want to thank all of the readers who not only enjoy the blog but support Candle Breeze. I see all internet orders and reconize most of your names when ordering. I’m compelling a list of our most loyal bloggers and supporters, you will all receive a special Aroma Radio Mix soon that I’ve been working on for about a month now. It’s the coolest Aroma Radio Mix I’ve ever put together. I remain most grateful for all of you who continue to re-order Cand-O’s and give Candle Breeze as gifts to those you love.
As many have you have mentioned Candle Breeze is the perfect Birthday and Wedding gift to give for those who are hard to buy for.

Father’s day is just around the corner and Tony Toscano/Talking Pictures will have another 50% off sale June 6th from 8:00 am - 10:00 am MST only.
Simply go to the Candle Breeze web site during that time and type Tony in the coupon code and get all product 50% off. This is an easy way to have your gifts shipped in time for dad. Most of you will take advantage of this Tony special to load up on Candle Breeze products to use as wedding, birthday or friend appreciation gifts to have on hand this summer.

As always I will check in after the weekend.
Have a great week and enjoy your weekend.

Cheers…
